How to Request a Website Be Unblocked in DNSFilter
DNSFilter protects the network by blocking unsafe or inappropriate websites. Occasionally, a legitimate website may be blocked. When this happens, DNSFilter makes it easy to request access directly from the block page.
Step 1: Visit the Blocked Website
When you try to access a blocked site, DNSFilter will display a block page explaining that the website is restricted.
Step 2: Use the Unblock Request Form
On the DNSFilter block page, select the option to Request Unblocking. This will open a built-in request form.
Step 3: Complete the Form
Fill out the form with the requested information. This typically includes:
- The website address (automatically filled in)
- Your name or email address
- A brief explanation of why the site is needed for work
Once completed, submit the form directly from the block page.
Step 4: Wait for Review
Your request is automatically sent to the IT or security team for review. They will evaluate the request to confirm the site is safe and appropriate for business use.
Step 5: Access the Site After Approval
If the request is approved, the website will be unblocked and you can return to the site. If access is still unavailable, contact IT support for assistance.
Using the built-in DNSFilter request form helps speed up the review process and reduces the need for manual support requests.
